Hope House Ministries

Hope House Ministries was started out of the First Baptist Church of Marion. The ministry is now its own non-profit 501 C-3 and is governed by a Board of Directors. This ministry provides a transitional home for formerly incarcerated women, as well as an emergency shelter for battered women. Its mission is to provide a positive environment and personal improvement program to help formerly incarcerated women rebuild their lives and reintegrate back into society successfully. The goal of Hope House Ministries is to empower women to become responsible for their lives and decisions through substance abuse treatment, vocational and educational training, counseling services, parenting classes, and spiritual guidance to instill in each woman a sense of worth and accomplishment. Additionally, Hope House operates a food pantry and clothes closet for women. Mary Gibbs is the director of Hope House Ministries. The ministry can be reached at 901-337-1801.
